Cate Peters, a senior at Monte Vista High in California, repeated as winner in the elite section of the girls 800 meters in 2:11.04 at the Dublin Distance Fiesta at Gaels Stadium in Dublin, Calif. Peters prevailed last year in 2:11.45 and became the first female athlete to capture back-to-back 800 victories since Alyssa Brewer of San Ramon California High in 2017-18. Peters also won the 800 in 2021 at the Dublin Social Distance Fiesta in 2:17.51 in her high school debut in the event.
